Story:
Dussehra is sitting in Birlapalle village of Godabrikhani. Dharni (Nani), his friend Soori (Deksheeth Shetty) and others are addicted to alcohol. Venela (Keerthi Suresh) is their common friend since childhood. Shivana’s (Samuthirakani) son Chinna Nambi (Shine Tom Chacko) is elected Sarpanch and he looks after the silk bar. Rajanna (Sai Kumar) helps Soori and his friends in a case and they elect him as their Sarpanch. After that, on the night of his wedding to Venela, someone kills Sori. Who killed Suri? What is the future of vanilla? What did Dharani do? All questions are answered in the picture. There is a little twist in the story. Dharani (Nani) is afraid of many things since childhood. He prefers not to talk in uncomfortable situations until one day his grandmother tells him that he drinks to avoid fear, to no one’s surprise, Dharani can be found with a bottle hanging from his waist anytime.

As much as Dharani and his tribal underlings want to steal coal from the train, drink themselves to an early death, and be alone in their tomfoolery, they get drawn into something bigger. Srikanth spends most of the first half of the film setting the world of Veerlapalli and the characters in it. He spends a lot of time on small moments.

The characters sit with their emotions. This doesn’t necessarily translate into scenes that keep you fully engaged. Some don’t hold your attention, some are too heavy, and the much talked about song Chamkila Angelesi comes out of nowhere.
However, when Srikanth delivers, he does so with complete assurance. Some of the Dussehra scenes stay with you long after the film ends.

All these years, Nani has entertained the audience as the boy-next-door and for the first time, he has challenged himself to play the role of Dharani in Dasara. His performance in the film is exemplary. From clothes to body language to dialogues, Nani takes great care and plays the role of Dharani brilliantly. The way he acted in emotional scenes is outstanding.
National award winning actress Keerthy Suresh has bagged a meaty role. Her performance as Venela is perfect and after Mahanati, this is her best signed film in Tollywood. After this film he will surely get many good roles in Telugu film industry.
